TOODLE’OO is a beautiful representation of an era where Old World Craftsmenship and quality of materials were a perquisite of any custom built boat. She was designed by the legendary Bill Tritt as a long keel displacement hull providing stability and sea kindliness. She was designed both as a classic Surrey top launch and as a Gaff rigged sloop. TOODLE’OO was built in 1964 by Pearson Yachts in Bristol, Rhode Island. Both of these boats incorporate the B&W 30HP Lathrop inboard gasoline engine. This engine was selected for its reliability and ease of maintenance. Replacement parts are readily available on-line. The hull and deck are of a solid fiberglass layup, no core material that can wick water and rot. The forward and stern decks are solid 7/16” teak screwed down and bedded in expandable caulk. The hulls classic tumble home and transom design are only found in vintage boats of this era…absolutely beautiful and a statement on their own. All wood surfaces, except for the teak decks, have been stripped and twelve coats of varnish applied. The teak decks have been sanded and a honey-tone sealer applied for a superior weather resistant finish. The hardware onboard is either cast bronze or brass, accenting the teak and oak trim detail of the boat. New custom quick release hardware secures the surrey tops eight supporting poles making it easy to remove when transporting or for storage. (The diagonal straps shown in the pictures are eliminated with this upgrade). All wiring in the engine compartment and helm is new along with a battery, battery disconnect switch, alternator, bilge pump, fuel tank sender and a completely new instrument panel. 18' Feet 1959 Chris Craft

Starting with a boat in great condition and purchased new in Cincinnati in 1959, it had just over 200 hours when I began the build. I completely stripped this 18' inboard ski boat down inside and out and performed a very high quality restoration with many upgrades over stock. I used all the same paint, sealers, caulk, and varnish products used by Chris Craft when the boat was built. I have all the original paperwork from when the boat was purchased new. I also have all the restoration receipts. I installed all new marine grade wiring and professionally built and upgraded the small block Chevy engine (283). It now has a roller cam, electronic ignition, alternator, new and better Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor and base plate, and many other upgrades to make the engine perform better with greater reliability over stock. All new interior by the Upholstry Shop in Jamestown, NY. Trailer was stripped, upgraded, and painted with Raptor Guard truck bed liner, and I added custom tires and wheels. I have all material receipts exceeding the asking price, and this does not include my 12 months of labor to perform this build. The restoration on the gauges alone was $2,000. I also built the dash from mahogany and installed a high end stereo system. This is a serious boat for serious inquiries only. I also have pictures from when I purchased the boat and all the progress photos throughout the entire build. I have approximately $35,000 invested with the purchase of the boat, restoration, and trailer upgrade. This does not include any of my labor or paid labor I used during the restoration. I also have the lift I built to restore the boat. A full price offer will include the lift which I have about $1500 in. The boat has only been in the water about a dozen times since restored in 2018. I built it as a show piece, and it has not been in the water in 3 seasons. It's time for someone else to enjoy it.

15 feet Feet 1961 Elgin

Up for sale is a 1961 Elgin 15 foot utility fiberglass boat with a 1961 75hp Elgin motor . This boat was purchased brand new in 1961 and the former owner passed away before he could use it. It has been sitting in a garage in upstate New Hampshire in storage never used. I bought it off of a collector who picked it up from the original owner’s daughter. They never used the boat. It was played in by the children when they were younger, but it never saw the water there is still plastic on the seats. The windshield is 99.99% flawless the white part of the boat is in very good shape. The red has spider cracks on the gel coat in the back by the outboard motor and in front of the windshield, but It is strictly cosmetic. The motor has not even been started by the original owner. It did get started at the factory before being shipped. The flywheel still has paint all on the teeth. Just letting you see that it’s never been used. The gas tank is spotless on the inside, but it has a Whiff of old gas. Maybe when the boat was purchased they rented at the marina or where he bought it from and they never used it since the trailer is the original Tee nee tilt trailer. It does have magnetic mounted trailer lights now the original ones have since been old and decrepit falling off. It has brand new tires and rims on it. I have the original tires and rims for it. They are perfect with the exception of the dry rotting on the side wall. I trail this boat back from Massachusetts and it trailed beautifully. This boat is too nice for me to have. I prefer aluminum. It either belongs in a museum or it needs to be used. Again, I have never fired up this motor. I have never tried to fire it up. It is not seized. It has unbelievable compression and as you can see in the pics, it was never run by the original owner.

16 ft Feet 1956 Mercury

1956 MERCURY SABRE 16. ft. MAHOGANY RUNABOUT, with in-line 6 Gray Marine original motor.  Upholstery: vinyl, white with red piping. I believe the motor is roughly 100 HP.    Original wood trailer, needs new windshield, carburetor re-build, new battery, re-wire. Have complete new gasket set. I would consider this boat as more a ‘needs work’ rather than a ‘project boat’.  The structure and hull are sound, interior re-painted, and do not believe the engine to have any issues.  This mahogany runabout is a vintage classic: 1956 Mercury Sabre, 16 ft. Wooden Power Boat. Best as I know, it is complete with original trim, gauges, forward/reverse lever, etc. I purchased the boat with my neighbor, and intentions of us polishing it up ourselves.  Reminded me of the wood Chris Craft lake boats I grew up with. It was in running order when we purchased.  But with both of our busy professional lives, time has not been on our side. We did perform some work on the boat, but have never put it in the water.  We crafted a new stainless exhaust manifold, painted the interior hull, replaced all the visible screws with stainless, installed a new stiffening plate behind where the propellor shaft exits. Carburetors need to be cleaned/rebuilt.  The vinyl-upholstered seats and motor cover are in good shape.  It has been tarped since we purchased in 2009.   The exterior mahogany would look terrific if it were refinished.  The interior is in quite good shape.  We were planning to rewire, since the previous owner had installed all the same-color wiring.  The windshield is an acrylic replacement that is damaged and needs to be replaced.  Original wood trailer and Mercury hubcaps.  Have rebuild kits for the dual carburetors.  Wish we had found to time to work on it…Fixed up, this boat will be a beauty!    The boat is located in Costa Mesa, Southern California.

14 ft Feet 1954 Winner

Found in upstate New York in the fall of 2011. I intended to restore and put it in the water during my years in the Navy stationed in Hawaii - but never materialized. I eventually had it partially restored to the state you see in the photos in 2016 by Wilco Marine in Newburyport, Massachusetts. He rebuilt the transom, sanded old coatings off, repaired weak spots, applied new gel coat (original color), and added new "Winner" vinyl logos where the original model had them. In 2021 I made a new front bench seat as seen in the photos out of padauk wood, an African hardwood that holds up very well in water (like teak). The boat has no trailer, but has a shipping cradle as seen in the photos. All the pieces and parts to continue the restoration are there - steering wheel, Johnson shifter, steering linkage pulleys and cables, and the entire rat's nest of electrical cabling (you probably don't want to reuse it, but it's included as an aid to reconstructing it). The wiring diagram is even intact! Will include supports for the sunbrella cover (supports seen in the photos - blue; cover not pictured - red), which is also included. The original (to my knowledge) gas can is included; does not leak when I last had gasoline in it. The engine that was installed was a 35hp Johnson Sea Horse, in the "art deco" style. Shiny deep red and cream colored, I suspect you'd want a full overhaul and rebuild. I have never put this in the water in my years of owning it. I started the engine once in 2011 but it's been sitting ever since.
