This boat is in beautiful condition and has always been kept covered Ina garage. There is not a ton of information available, but after consulting with a Thompson boat expert, we determined it could possibly be a family Row Boat, pre World War 2. The only markings on the boat are the metal Thompson Bros plate at the front of the boat.

This 1965 Thompson Super Thomboy is an 18 foot version of the 16 foot Thomboy produced by the Thompson Brothers in the 1960s. Fully restored by her previous owner in 2006, which is detailed in a journal of receipts, completed tasks, and pictures. The restoration included new upholstery to the front dashboard, two fully reclining captain chairs, rear bench seat, and custom canvas cover. Powered by an 1988, 100 hp, 4-cylinder, oil injected 2-stroke Mercury outboard with a newly rebuilt fuel system and lower power unit.

Show condition. Purchased by the current owner in 1985. Won best land display, Alexandria Bay, 2010 and best outboard motor. Won best Classic outboard motor 2022 in Georgetown SC show. Has trailer.

I purchased the boat in 2000 from second owner, completely restored and used often for 10 years nearly every weekend in fresh water lakes, towed to Florida several times to the St Johns River, Tennessee River in Alabama and Mississippi for wooden boat events. The boat is ready to launch now and is fully equipped for pleasure rides, river cruises, fishing and towing. Comfortably carries 4-6 people. I have cared for, maintained and kept stored safely out of the weather when not in use. It is sound and as all lap strake boats it does seep some water until fully swelled but not of any amount that the bilge pump cannot maintain. I upgraded the engine to modern power 1999 4.3 Mercruiser V6 and a new drive when I replaced the rotten transom. The original in line 6 cylinder was great but this boat responds extremely well with the V6 engine. This original vintage 1937 Thompson Bro's wooden cedar strip row boat was fully restored by our late father Robert (Bob) Kraemer in May 1986. It is in excellent condition (hardwood oak seats) and ready for the water! The boat comes with a trailer and 1949-1952 (Serial #350385 so it is that year range based on our research) vintage Mercury KF5 Super5 5HP outboard motor. It also comes with fully restored wooden oars, carpet pad for the bottom, classic vintage anchor, and battery operated bow and stern lights. Our father Bob was an avid duck and goose hunter (as well as whitetail and mule deer, turkey, bear, elk hunter and fisherman) and who was a life-long conservationist with an eye and love of the outdoors, which he passed these traditions on to his 4 sons and grandchildren. He was a life-long supporter of Ducks Unlimited and was the editor and publisher of the DU Webfoot News for over 25 years. Our dad was born in 1937 and DU was also first established in 1937 so he purchased this 1937 Thompson Bro's wooden cedar-strip boat as a way to commemorate the year DU was established and year of his birth. He completely restored it by himself in May 1986 (see plate of restoration date with his name and month/year stamped in the rear hull of the boat). The boat has been kept in storage and is in excellent condition (just like it was in May 1986 when he restored it), and is ready for another collector to add this age-old beauty to their collection or continue to use for duck hunting, fishing, or just for enjoying the serenity of a local lake. This Thompson Bro's wooden cedar strip boat and vintage Mercury outboard have many more years to go!

My Father in Law bought this Sea Coaster many years ago many years ago. The boat came from the Detroit area and the vinyl interior was in mint condition at the time. He restored the interior wood and had a professional restorer bring the hull back to excellent condition. He passed away and never got to get the boat back on the water. Restored to excellent condition and is now ready for it's first voyage since being restored.

This was owned by my father's best friend first, then sold to my father, then given to me. It was rarely used. I'm looking to sell because of my health, I'm unable to enjoy as much as I could!

Very good shape , this boat has been to Mackinaw Island, Lake Huron. This boat can seat 4 or 3. Three is the folded bench in back, the boat has the full Bimini cover as well as the winter cover. Boat has been in water and run summer of 2012, all gears work and motor run great. Motor comes with a extra brass prop, swim latter, bilge pump. Boat comes with original trailer double axle, Pamco trailer.
